Principal
I am honored to be the Principal of THE John Adams Elementary School in CSSD11. My fifteen years of experience in the field of education have all been in School District 11 and I am proud to serve our community.
Growing up as a military child, I had the unique opportunity to live in Texas, Mississippi, Colorado, and Germany before settling in Colorado Springs after my father’s retirement from the military.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a deep commitment to student growth and success. I spent eight years as an elementary teacher and three years as a coach, where I supported both students and fellow educators in achieving their goals. My dedication to leadership and fostering positive school communities led me to serve in assistant principal roles before being appointed as the principal of John Adams Elementary in 2024.
I firmly believe that all students are capable of achieving at high levels when provided with the right opportunities and support. Calling the Wolfpack my family and JAES my home are two things I carry with pride. Together, we will work to create an environment where every student can thrive and all students are heard, seen, valued, and loved.

Assistant Principal
I am truly honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of John Adams Elementary School in Colorado Springs School District 11. Our school feels like home, a place where students, staff, and families lift one another up, work together, and celebrate every success as a community. Being part of a school family like this is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
With 18 years of experience in education, I’ve had the joy of serving as a classroom teacher and instructional coach in both Harrison District Two and District 11. No matter the role, my heart has always been with students and with the families and colleagues who partner alongside them. I believe deeply in every child’s potential, and I am committed to creating meaningful, real‑world learning experiences that honor each student’s unique strengths and needs. Before joining the John Adams Elementary administration team in 2024, I also served on several community committees, which strengthened my passion for collaboration and service.
As a proud military wife, my family and I have lived in Texas, Alabama, Washington, and Germany before settling in Colorado after my husband’s retirement. These experiences have shaped my appreciation for diverse communities, resilience, and the power of strong relationships, values that guide my leadership every day at John Adams Elementary.
In Partnership,
Catherine Mlodzik
