It is an honor to serve as principal at John Adams Elementary School! This school year will be my third year in District 11 as well as my 24th year overall in education. I am extremely proud to be part of this amazing school community at Adams! We have a talented and caring staff, and I am committed to collaborating with them to provide the best possible education for all of our students. I also look forward to working in partnership with our parents and community. We are going to have a great year at Adams! Go Wolfpack!
Dear Adams’ Community:
I am Leticia King and I am very honored to be the interim assistant principal at James Adams Elementary school. I began my teaching career as a Bilingual Kindergarten teacher serving the migrant student population for six years for the San Elizario Independent School District in El Paso, Texas.
In 2000, my family and I relocated to beautiful Colorado Springs where I continue to support students, parents, and colleagues as a Title I Reading teacher, literacy coach, Professional Learning Communities (PLC) facilitator, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) teacher and instructional coach meeting the diverse needs of English language learners for Harrison School District Two (HSD2). The past 8 years in D11, I had the privilege to support and facilitate teams of teachers in PLCs , instructional strategies, and data analysis as an instructional coach.
My family and I enjoy visiting and hiking beautiful places throughout Colorado. I have been in education for the past 27 years and still love every moment! I’m looking forward to collaborating with parents, families and the community in supporting our school and district mission:
We dare to empower the whole student to profoundly impact our world!
